Hi guys,

Have you seen this ! It a custom made triple jet from parsons' guitars (http://parsonsguitars.com/). This one is called black vampire, grrr wow! What a look

It seems to than it has been made in hell foundries from a custom order of Mr. Paul Allen former Microsoft Head of the world ( U know devil inside stickers...:D )

ANyway, great job and inspiration for this beast.

If you have some extra pix from this one, I would like to see!

Just notice, the red line over the sides on the frets to make the triple line continue on the top the fret board. Crazy!

I'm asking myself what they want to do for filling the headstock hole (above the scorpion)...I'm a bit afraid. Has anybody seen it finalized??

I saw an interview with Parsons a while back showing this guitar, and he was hinting at it being made available by gretsch, dont see it anywhere though.

wow. all that hard work and they ruined it with a B5 Bigsby.

I doubt that it would get played much, but a fret replacement job will be a royal b*tch.

Yah. Personally I would probably be caught dead playing that thing... Thats for the rock stars who decide they wanna be buried in trash-bags w/ their ax, or spent all their cash on dope and guitars (obviously w/ that taste in guitars lots of dope involved) and cant afford to be buried in more than trash bags.

Is this not a B7? That's what he puts on most of his Triple Jet guitars.

Could be-- I can't see the tail in the photos.

Yea, all I saw was that second bar. I thought you might know something I didn't about this particular guitar. Parson's site leaves a lot to th imagination to be wanting to sell you guitars for $20,000. If I'm going to pay that much for an ax, (which I won't, I can't even justify the price of an Annie, even though I could afford one) I want to know exactly what it looks like, front and back, what all the controls do, what the guts look like, and every tiny detail about it. It's like buying a car sight unseen. If he wants to justify selling guitars for this price, I would expect him to at least show a full front and back pic. Don't get me wrong, from what I can tell, his creations are beautiful, every one of them, but I guess maybe the mystery is part of it.

i love red and black, but i don't really care for this one. if the guitar was red, and the binding was black, that might have been cool.

That's what one can buy when you are one of the wealthiest people in the world.

Uncle Paul lives close by (Mercer Island). I know where he lives. I'm going over there today to put a note on his gate to ask him to let me play this guitar. Maybe he'll let me play Clapton's "Brownie" and Jimi's Woodstock Strat, too.

So are these technically "Gretsch" guitars? Is he using bodies made by Gretsch or are these completely fabricated by Parsons?

I reckon he makes them himself. I know on a couple he uses a Gretsch headstock inlay and some of them have a Parsons logo. Maybe Gretsch only lets him put their name on certain ones, ones they like, and doesn't let him use the logo on guitars that they don't like. The first pic is Jack White's copper top Triple Jet, which has a Gretsch logo. The second pic is the Red Vampire which has the Parsons winged P logo. The difference between these two guitars is that the copper one isn't available to the public, it was a three production run just for Jack. The RV is available to the public. That could be what it is, or maybe it's just the artist's preference.

Also, I read that Gretsch gave him an Annie to customize because they planned to mass-produce them. No idea when these will be out, if ever. The article said that they were trying to get more of a rock and roll following, rather than country and rockabilly.

he makes the whole guitar from scratch (the black vampire is made entirely out of ebony)

Wow, i'm not sure ebony is the better wood for bass vibes to be resonant. That true that on the raw headstock pix all is made from ebony, no doubt. This vampire should be very hollowed or be heavy as a mule.

I believe I read that even the neck was hollowed out.
