Extra ears wanted!

Hey every one,

Trying to figure this song out, the chorus is quite tricky! I have the verse but cant get all of the chorus or bridge!

I wish! Trying to learn the guitar part, me and a friend have got the vocals down but cant figure the damn guitar out!

Anyone out there able to offer any help? :)

The three chords in the verse really, its in open G I think (i listed it above).

Tabbed, these 4 chords are below (there is 6th and 4th string bass picking whilst the rest of the melody is plucked)

I think these are right, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong though! I only really need the shapes, i can figure the picking out!

OK, fiddling around a bit here.
First off: I feel I can get that atmosphere easier if I tune the G string to a F#. That way the guitar is tuned in an open D-major chord.

Melody fingering becomes a whole lot easier that way too :)

right, and that gives me access to the a whole range of 2-finger shift chords:

0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 -- 0
0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 -- 0
0 - 1 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 8 - 10 - 12
0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 -- 0
0 - 2 - 4 - 5 - 7 - 9 - 10 - 12
0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 -- 0

Basically, it's the E7 'shape' that shifts up and down the neck.
At some points I (5th, 7th, 10th, 12th position), I fret the G-string (F#) with my ring finger, so I can keep my middle finger as anchor point on the A-string.

So there is probably the range of chords I'm starting off with and adjust as necessary.

Next step: figure out the bass line.

Ah, nice... you can double the A position on the low E string (D):

middle finger anchors on the low E (D)
ring finger anchors on the low A
index finger and pinky alternate on the G string (F#)

Only the one in the 10th position needs a bit of figuring out.
I use ring finger on low E (D), middle finger on A string, index finger on G String (F#). It's uncomfortable, but it lets me keep an anchor on the G-string (f#) with my index finger.

Hmmm, very inspiring this. I love discovering that sonic space on my guitar just now; I'd never tried it before.:)

I have a hunch this is pretty much the chord set for the song.

Ah, and if you have trouble with the 3-finger approach above, this will work perfectly too:

0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 -- 0

Now, anchor the middle finger on the low E string (D), and in such a way that it mutes the A string.
Index finger and ring finger alternate on the G string (F#).

Added bonus: now that chord in the 10th position doesn't need a complete re-arrange of your fingers anymore.:)

Ok, here's the entire chord stucture for the song.

The 'bridge' is essentially a chorus with a slight variation at the end. I assume once you get the chords and the basic structure, that'll be easy to figure out.

So, the song structure becomes:

Intro - verse (him) - chorus
Intro - verse (her) - chorus
Instrumental chorus with variation at end
Verse (together) - chorus
Intro

For the chords themselves, refer to my last post(s).

Wow, Thanks for taking the time to figure this out!

And also, Open tuning rules! there have been a few songs that i have learnt recently that have had some form of open tuning in them! So chilled and really resonant on an acoustic!
