Hey all. MJ here.
First off... I confess... I don't own a Gretsch!!! I will, someday. I do own a couple of pretend Gretschi. A Schecter Vintage Solo and a bent Artcore that is about to get an upgrade in the form of TV Jones Classic in the bridge position. OK, the deal is, if I spend as much as it takes to by a legit Gretsch in this town, my wife will mess the floor.
That said, I've been checking out various gitfiddle forums for a while now and this one is by far the most interesting and I learn a lot. I'm an old guy who's reaquainting himself with his instrument after a number of years off. Was never blazingly good but I am improving. Probably a better songwriter than a picker. My near term goal is to join/form a retro/rockabilly outfit (with fairly wide age parameters).
I enjoy everything from ABBA to Zepplin but have warm spots in my heart for folks like Cochran, X, Rockpile, the Reverend, GaryClark Jr, BOW WOW WOW, and Chet.
I understand if nobody wants to sit next to me on the bus.
