As a new Gretsch owner I was just wondering how many gretschies out there have incorporated travis picking while playing with a regular pick. Are they're many out there. Rather than Brian Setzer .

The Reverend Horton Heat uses the pick to do the bass and his other 3 fingers to do the melody. This is the way I like to do it though you do get a different sound if you use the pick over the thumb... brighter

I tend to do this at times although there's no real planning involved.

Yeah I have just sort of got used to doing it that way whilst I am playing try different techniques out and see what works for you!
