Bit the bullet and ordered the Tim today.

I have seen some people use them at some local music holes, and i liked it. I believe that the tim and the brain, and I am set for a long time.

According to the man, Paul, who answered his phone politely, it is about three months, which I knew going in. So, next posting will be in three months or so. 169 compared to the insane amounts on ebay, I think is worth the wait. So till then, I will just have to play my amp a little louder.

I t would be great to say that the money I saved will go towards this, it might, but thats three months from now. Most of my saved smoke money goes up in smoke in other ways. It just gets sucked back into household expenses. Either way, no smokes. So, would i rather have no money and smoke, or no money and not smoke? No brainer.

It's tough to wait patient for 3 months but at least you know it's worth the wait.:D

I hope so. Right before I got the brain, I was really frustrated with the sounds I wasn't getting from my Blues driver. It just seemed bland, so I ditched it. I love the sound of the hotrod the brain, and the 59 bassman. This will be another flavor.

I just got my KOT after 18 or so months. Worth the wait. Forgot I ordered altogether. Got an email, paid, and had the pedal three days later. Really want totry the Tim but one OD with boost at a time on ,my tight budget and board.

I really enjoy my Timmy, and I mainly use it to boost solos. There are many things it does very well and very transparantly. I like how it doesn't mush up my Gretsch like so many od/distortion boxes do.

I LOVE my TIM pedal. It lives up to the hype and then some.

I am currently playing through a bassman reissue. The brain does exactly what it claims to do, makes your gretsch sound very setzerish. I use that a bit. There are times I need a different kind of bite, one for a blues sound, and i am hoping the brain will do it. The past pedals i have had just fuzzed things up, and they sounded cheap. I also hope it will allow me to get those sounds at low levels, as in basement practice levels. The brain can get it when i play out at higher levels, but in the house, its too loud for the family.

Sorry. Disappeared for a couple of days. Devil's work is never done ya'know. Anyway, KOT is short for King of Tone a dual overdrive (light distortion not unlike a Tim pedal) pedal by Analog.Man (http://analogman.com/kingtone.htm) you can set either side to be a boost, OD, or distortion. Most like to have an OD on the right and a clean boost on the left. Great pedal. Pretty worth the wait as well. One thing I like about the Tim though, is the loop. Seems nice to be able to have a pedal that will allow you to switch a whole chain of other pedals on an on with it. Kind of cool place for a delay or reverb pedal to go active only in lead mode. Anyway, like I said, I am ordering one. As soon as it looks to my fiancee like I haven't bought a pedal in awhile. Couple a weeks I'd say.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if i would use the loop or not, and for once in my life I used future sight, and ordered it. Allthough i don't use a lot of pedals, the idea of having reverb only on the lead, or delay on the lead seems interesting, and i will try it out when i get it.

And no, Devils work is never done, thats why he has many helpers. Diversity of the workforce!

the loop in the TIM is sitting at the end of the circuit so its kind redundant other than when the TIM is switched off, that loop is out of the circuit.. but then you cant use the TIM. The only thing I found useful for the TIM's loop was when I was using 2 TIM pedals with one engaging a dynacomp for some twangy tele pickin. regardless the TIM is so perfect for the ol' gretsch!

I hope so. Trying to convince the powers that be, that i need more stuff for anything is getting harder every year. I am picking up as much session and arranging work i can to pay for these extras. I tell her they are business expenses, she gives me the look. Wait till I explain why I needed the bass vi type guitar.

I have always wished Paul C would offer a Tim with the loop on boost only. That said, it's not really redundant. The point, to me, is to engage other effects without stepping on other switches. In addition to reverb, a vibe or phaser would also work great for lead-mode Tim action. Too bad it's such an always-in sort of pedal. That's why a boost-only loop would be so cool. No interest from Paul C to date, though. You're right to, between the Tim and it's boost would make more sense than after the whole pedal I guess.
