Venting/Porting a combo amp. Thoughts?

I'm having a 2x10 cabinet built for my 67 Bassman.
I should have my amp cabinet by next week! I stopped by the guy who's building it's house to talk about the porting/venting tonight and snapped a few pictures of the cabinet in progress. I'm stoked to get my Bassman loaded up in it. Quality and craftsmanship looks top notch!

What do you guys think of this for porting/venting?
I'm looking to retain some low end punch of a closed back but also want some openness and spread of an open back.

That's really cool, man. Are you planning on putting the chassis in that little top compartment, there?

looks like it's already vented and ported to me.

You can search for thiele small parameters and do some exact calculations for specific porting and frequency curves... http://www.thielesmall.com/

I've ported closed back cabs before without any exact science and they've always sounded good. I little does go a long way as far as giving you some of the spill of an open back, and from the looks of your cab, I think what you've got will be plenty for nice spill and plenty of projection forward.

The bottom picture is a mock up I did in photoshop. The top two are of my actual cab

MIne is a '64 in an open back cab with 1-12" JBL D130. I have a couple of 10" Fender stock speakers and have thought about what it might sound like with them in it.
