Thanks i've Been looking but almost no country to be found as yet.. NeilSt January 17th, 2012, 07:38 PM Sorry. Can't help you. We don't really go to clubs much anymore, and when we do it tends to be for jazz. PacRat January 17th, 2012, 11:46 PM Bill you might try some of the other guitar forums, there are a nice group of guys and gals over a Jam Session. Maybe some of them may have a line on something up your way. billyc January 18th, 2012, 02:12 AM Sorry. Can't help you. We don't really go to clubs much anymore, and when we do it tends to be for jazz. Thanks anyway.I still hope to find a few country players around the area.. freddyfingers January 18th, 2012, 08:38 AM Over the past three or so years, i have not had luck with craigslist for finding musicians. Unless your 17 and play speed metal, or produce rap. HAve you tried band mix? don't know if they are still out there. Or, go to a local music store, sometimes they have postings, or a local artsy musicians newspaper. Good luck. I know the frustrations of moving somewhere new, and not having the same avenues to search that you are used to. johnnyguitar January 18th, 2012, 09:35 AM My ex's dad bought a vacation(winter) home in Florida we would visit for a week. He loved all that old country( me too) and he found a group that would get together at a local church. Basicially it was open to all ,you brought your instrument and it went around the room and everyone would pick a song. He met some incredible musicians through this. In particular a man and a lady both in their 70's, she could sing like Patsy Cline and he played the most incredible melodic guitar parts, with inverted and augmented chords through his solos. Man I did not want to go home....I was hoping he would adopt me and teach me everything he knew. Anyway, long story short. You should check the local churches or community halls for something like this...... billyc January 18th, 2012, 11:05 PM I can't believe there isn't something going on somewhere near by . . . I mean come on If I keep looking something will come up.. PacRat January 18th, 2012, 11:49 PM That suggestion from Jiohnnyguitar might have some merit . . . I forgot about that, you might put some feelers out that way . . .I guess it could never hurt. |
