Anyone know the nut width & spacing of a Pro Jet?johnnyguitar January 16th, 2012, 06:45 AM Or a good place to order one?? Cheers Chancey77 January 16th, 2012, 10:44 AM email skaught.guff@yahoo.com The Marlin January 16th, 2012, 12:00 PM Usually 43 mm. Standard Fender Strat style. I use a Fender LSR Roller nut, kills binding and tuning problems, perfect fit, and improves tone. It's like a Compton, but with balls (well, little ball bearings.....um...and at the nut, not the bridge.....so, not quite like a Compton then....... I'll get my coat....) Marlin LOL I'll do some research on it, so it's the same as a Fender nut? I thought my Tele felt a bit wider at the nutp 6stings January 16th, 2012, 05:19 PM I bought a couple of SLOTTED BRASS NUT Gretsch 6120 from AxeMasters on ebay, didn't have time to install them. They need some fine sanding, the edges are little sharp, otherwise they look nice and have a correct width johnnyguitar February 2nd, 2012, 04:51 PM Went with the Fender LSR. Took a creativity to get it to fit though. Had to grind & file down the old nut to use as a spacer. Cutting into the fret board took some guts but johnnyguitar February 2nd, 2012, 04:54 PM Well worth the effort. Open chords ring like a bell and absolutely no binding at the nut :) The Marlin February 2nd, 2012, 04:54 PM great, arn't they. All binding issues, gone forever. It's like a Compton at the nut.....but...not...cos it's a nut......umm..... Marlin ;) edit: forgot I murdered that joke earlier.... johnnyguitar February 2nd, 2012, 04:57 PM This phone is going to be the end of me!! johnnyguitar February 2nd, 2012, 05:14 PM great, arn't they. Ah the Compton, hopefully you have better luck. When I get me a Duo it'll be the first purchase(again)! Unfortunately I had to turn the 3 bass saddles on the old tune-O-matic around and screw them up tight to the front and could still use more :( I ordered a Wilkinson roller bridge, not my first choice but it can be adjusted back and forth on the bridge pins with set screws. That should solve my issue and really it's not a bad looking piece. I like that it locks itself onto the pins, may help with sustain..... The Marlin February 2nd, 2012, 05:39 PM I'm a fan of the Wilkinson roller nut. Very flexible, all the components lock tight (no buzzing) and it sounds almost as good as a Compton. A great, cheap, upgrade. I gave one away on here recently. I may have another spare. Will have a look. Marlin |
