If I can get a bridge to fit with the existing stud holes, then a B50/Vibramate would work.
Is this possible without re-drilling & re-positioning bridge studs or getting something custom made?

Love that bridge...
My main concern would be the angle the strings make from the Bigsbyroller to the saddles. They may very likely hit the backedge of the bridge.

Sorry, I know this is a Bigsby forum, but I went with something guaranteed to work with no alteration to the guitar. Swaps interchangeably with my existing bridge/tailpiece combo.
Its supposed to thread right into my existing bushings.

I agree with Pine Apple. Making a Bigsby work with that bridge is an iffy proposition at best. I'd suggest finding a purpose built product for the tailpiece studs already on the guitar.

what holds that bridge on the posts is string tension.. there wil not be any forward tension to hold it in place with the bigsby.. so when you use the tremelo your bridge will move.. this bridge is meant to be held in position withthe string tension..

^ I realized that that bridge was unusable. Was just wondering if the existing tailpiece insets would have to be relocated.
Anyway I ordered the Schaller LP which is supposed to swap right out with with no new holes or anything.
It shipped today.
Will report.

Wow, can't believe I missed that, seeing I had that bridge on my no1 for 20 years!

Bad news. Does not fit. Had to send it back and eat a 15% restocking fee.
Even tried it on my Epi Explorer, but even with the tuneomatic it requires you pull & fill the existing bushings/holes and install new bushings and bridge posts.
Literature was misleading. Disapointed. Guess the old Carvin will stay stock. I aint drillin no holes in her.
I guess it will be a Bigsby for the Explorer. Damn thing is gold tho, (Korina/gold hdwre)and a gold Bigsby is pricey, esp if I go with the Vibramate option. The trem would cost as much as the guitar, kinda silly.
Think a nickel one would look like ass on it or would it give it an old Gretschy vibe?
Or maybe just get the nickel Vibramate(if I decide to go that route) and save a few bucks?
