And, though I still can't believe it, it is a left handed instrument. Just counting my blessings to have another instrument with which to express myself... Yeah, right... to display my musical incompetence.

So far I like it. the "r-billy" setting lacks a lot, but it is still very fun to mess with.... Seems to be a well-built, decent instrument.

The trick is, and I found this to be true of all modelling this-that-and-the-others, to not use what they say things are to be used for.

Case in point, on my Cube, I use the JC for rockabilly. Although they have rockabilly type amps modelled, and they sound good, I actually found the JC delivering more what I wanted. Dig around in there, you might find a guitar model that works better for you on Rockabilly.

The ONLY thing I heard on the Variax when I played one YEARS ago that I didn't like was how the modelled guitars handled palm muting like what you'd see in metal. Other than that, they really are pretty killer.

Edit: didn't notice on first look but you are doin the Roland thing too! :D

I have a Microcube RX(left of my office chair) and a Cube Street (right of my office chair).

If I really want to annoy my friends and neighbors, I have the Gretsch Playboy Behind the RX, a DRRI behind the Cube Street....

Do you have a Roland Jazz Chorus proper Squirrel?

Regarding the Variax's preset models and stuff, I think it all comes down to personal preference and generally, I can sound bad on any rig, but I can work on making the rig be adjusted to some kind of pleasing sound shape, while taking on the challenge of being more precise with my hands and timing, practicing.

After all this, I return to my bedroom and put my pants on, as I had forgotten them while getting dressed this morning.

This must have something to do with why it seemed so cold walking my dog earlier, and why the folks at the grocery store kept looking at me, but not in the eye. I was in the produce section when I finally saw my reflection in the mirror and saw my scarred white chicken legs and understood that I had forgotten to get sressed all the way.

"Damn" I said.

Well, my pants are on now, so it's all good! Right?

No... I rock the Cube 80x and MicroCube. :D

I have a custom tube amp being built...really just to have it. haha.

I wish there was a Variax around here I could try. The one I tried was YEARS ago and briefly. These days, stores don't carry them at all.

...and you are absolutely correct. The player makes a rig sound good or bad.

A lot of people HATE the cube I play through generally... but few have complaints when I play through it. If that makes any sense. It sounds good. What can you say? Sure it defies tradition... but so what! haha.
