Hi, finally I make my choice for brass

But after checking comptonbridges.com website, I try to use the radius paper sheet with both 12" and 9.5"... which look the same for my old eyes.

I use a 6120 RHH made in 2005, is it a 9.5" or 12" ???

Anyway I find a Bridge Post Stud Spacing = 2.9 inch
and strings E<->E spacing = 2 inch

Before buying a new one, I check GT members who would like to trade their used one for other metal or something.

Last point, I know that copper compton could turn brown after months, what about brass esthetics after months of furious playing ? :eek:

I have had a brass one on my Gold hardware 77 Guild X500 for almost a year looks fine. You can always re-polish brass easy enough with metal cleaner.

I thought the RHH's were 12" vs the B Setzer models at 9.5.

I could be wrong though, best wait for a second opinion.

I know that my Sparkle Jet has a compound radius, moving from 9.5 at the nut to close to 12 at the bridge. My Gretsch dealer recommended that I go with the 12 radius for that guitar. Don't know if the RHH has a compound radius too.

Brass will tarnish a little bit but can be cleaned up with a little Brasso when you change strings.

Brass is my number one choice for tone. I also like stainless steel. I don't care for the aluminum bridge. It's too light and sucks the tone and sustain right out of the guitar.
