I knicked this from the MLP forum. I know this pedal has gotten some attention here and probably left some of you curious or possibly gassing even. :)
Proguitarshop is selling the Les lius for $119.00 with the coupon code "lius"
I bought the original used for about the same price. Here's your chance to check out a nice pedal for relative cheap.

I am a big fan as well. I have one on my board and love it.

You know, I've never played the original Fender amps the LL aims to mimic(Marshall guy). I know I like the pedal, but how good of a job does it actually do?

This pedal is for humbuckers. Because I play through a marshall I'm use to the marshall grind so I mostly play it through the boost side of the pedal. The one thing that makes it unique it that Mashall pedals tend to be mid scooped to portrait a marshall amp this pedal has great detail on the high strings that you wouldn't get from a mid scooped pedals.
This pedal is also great with Fuzz(z vex- mastotron) and a nice alternative to my OCD. These are my two favorite pedals. As for when I play my Gretsch (mine has dearmonds)I like the Plimsoul and lovepedal-Fuse. I think the Plimsoul is meant for single coil and I would describe it as an OCD for singles.

Bubblyah I don't even know half of the pedals you mention... I've only heard the Plimsoul combines the best of the OCD and Fulldrive?

I wonder what would happen if you put the LL through a Tweed or a Twin? Weird frequencycancelations or black holes maybe?

I never heard of this one before. After few vid on youtube, sure it's a MUST HAVE for all les paul's players. Indeed it's more convincing with humbuckers than with single coils.

I have one as well... though it got kicked off my board by my Paisley.
Its a great "tweed in a box" pedal and does the Neil Young/ Stones/ZZ Top sound well.

Howdy all, not sure what "This pedal is for humbuckers" means. I have never tried it with humbuckers. The LL pedal had become a main staple for my rig. I generally play out of Telecasters and the Duo Jet and the occasional Rick. Most of the time I play a stereo rig Vox AC15 and a Fender Blues jr. When I kick this puppy on I get instant Keith Richards and I would say almost dead on. There is an excellent vid at proguitarshop http://proguitarshop.com/lovepedal-les-lius.html check it out. I would get this pedal again if something should happen to the one I have. Check out the Flashback from TC Electronics as well. I just picked up the VOX AC15 C2 Twin and will try out the rig this Monday.

but your profile sez you have a 72 Gibson 335 and L-5, those arent part of your rig? I always say the Barber Burn unit is more of a humbucker overdrive because most overdrives will sound good with a tele or strat but become mush in the lows with say Gretsch Filtertrons (humbuckers).. the Burn unit does not and is almost too trebly with my strat... Similiar findings with the LL pedal. What kinds of pickups are in your L-5, that would be a good test bucker guitar for your LL pedal.

The L-5CES has p-90's and the 335 has 57's. I have not tried the pedal with the 335. I personally think LL pedal is a great pedal for most any guitar, single or hum pickups. Even the Amp 11 from Lovepedal can be amazing in a small room and a Blues Junior. Personally I think the Durham Zia or the Sex Drive would be a perfect match for humbuckers. The soft or hard compression lends at lot to keep control or your tone.

Hi Faronatx, when I use the Les lius with single coils it sound decent. It has a bit of a sharp attack to it. When I use it with my G5126(Dearmonds) it can be a bit dry and steril . When I hook up my SG with it it's rich with character stays tight and when boosted I get some very sweet overdrive. I think because of the tight attack it really brings out the humbucker. I think singles are a bit too transparent to get the best out of this pedal.

But keep in mind thats just one opinion. I was just suggesting what I believe would bring the most joy out of the pedal. I'm glad your loving the pedal.

I've used mine with both my '57 Tweed Pro and My Victoria 5112 with single coils and Filtertrons. My settings are on the low side of the pedal's drive capabilities.
The Tweed Twin setting is great for tightening up the low end of both of these amps. I seldom use either of the other settings.
If tweed dirt is your thing, there's plenty of that on tap. I'm more of a clean on the edge of break up kind of player. The LL works very well for that kind of thing.

Hey bubblyah,

Love the pic for the avatar.

I think the biggest factor is what are you putting before the pedal and the amp your using. Those two factors make a huge difference in the final sound. I use a Tone Press for my compression (amazing pedal) and adjust the LL to taste. I am using the "tweed" mode on the LL. Sometimes I use the Amp 11 instead of the LL. And yes, loving the pedal.

Could be. I haven't tried using it with a Fender or Vox type amp. I have several overdrive and distortion pedals and reference its character to how it makes my guitars sound. Haven't played it with fender\vox type amps. I actually bought it for the reason that I don't have those amps. The LL is one of my Favorite pedals next to my OCD.

I'd like to hear your thoughts of it based on the fact that your familliar to the Tim and Timmy.

what thoughts should I share? :) I'm a dyed in the wool Paul Cochrane fan and the TIM is extremely well designed for a gretsch guitar. Until I came up with my Dynobrain the TIM was my always on pedal.
