Have you ever wanted to do this

Do you want your bigsby handle to sit under your palm while you play. All you need to do is either grind down the tab on you arm bracket or what I did was attach my arm to a Chet wire arm bracket. Notice it does not have the tab. I love it. Works great

I keep coming back to this thread - This interests me, and I'd like to get some additional info. I just did a B50 EZ Mount on one of my Strats and I'm finding the limited range of sideways movement of the bar really restrictive.

I'd rather not grind down the stop, purely for cosmetic reasons. Can you tell me more about the Chet wire arm bar bracket? Some of the things I'd like to know:

-Does the bracket fit a B50?
-Where can I order one, and is it available as a separate part or only with the arm?
-Is it something I can install myself or is the bar pressed in?

I hope I'm not asking questions that have been asked a thousand times before. I haven't had a lot of luck researching this, but if there's an older thread on this you can link me to that would be great. I'm a rookie with Bigsby units so any info you think is relevant would be appreciated.

i put one on my 5120

the hole in it was smaller than the shaft on the bigsby so i opened it up to fit. its held on with a set screw. . there avalable on ebay. thats where i got mine.

i found it to be a big improvement once you get it set up.

theres the one set screw for the arm bracket. and two small ones for the arm so you can set the tilt the way you want it.

just type in bigsby tremolo arm and youll see a few

Thanks for the response, amx05462. I had a look on eBay and found what's described as a wire-arm bracket. It looks like half of what you show in your original post, and I don't think it's that part I need. Is there a different name for the other piece?

Spellcaster. you can always just grind it then sand it smooth by using finer and finer sand paper until your using the back of 500 grit and then polish it back to a good shine to match.

You know, I'm going to do just that! I hate that little chunk of metal. I come from a Fender Jazzmaster background and like to play with the trem in my hand for the crazy strum and bend action. I thought I just had to live with it!

This is my first Bigsby and I've often thought 'Whose idea was it to block the trem arm coming up anyway?'

It seems as though the wire arm bracket doesn't normally include that lower piece that attaches to the string bar. I guess I'll just have to look for a whole wire arm assembly to get the piece I want. Thanks for the advice.

Wow, I started this post and then no one responded so I forgot all about it. Sorry, it looks like everyone else stepped up though. I was about To grind my bracket down but then noticed that the Chet wire arm bracket that I had sitting around did not have that tab so I switched them and it worked just fine. One thing I just noticed is that the Duane Eddy arm and bracket are reversed, the tab is on the arm itself. I just ordered one so I might have to do some grinding after all. :)

Its a 6136TLDS ,Without checking i think thats it,it had dynasonics in it when i got it but i swapped them over for tv dynatrons, witch are filtertrons made to fit in the dyna covers,i wanted this model because it has the long logo with the wings and nitrocellulose paint, its aged white and the bigsby is great coz it goes right across the strings, ive played it so much though that it needs a refret now, i got it new 4 years ago,i still gig with it so ive been putting the refret off but i will get it done some time.i also got a black phoenix and a silver jet so theres no hurry and i want to find the right man for the job as i dont want to have to kill anyone for ****ing up my falcon.

Yes that is great, I just got this Bigsby handle with bracket. I ordered a Duane Eddy handle but they send me this by mistake. I think I'll give it a go. The notch on the bracket is closer to the strings so the handle goes up further right up over the strings. I have not put it on yet but I just noticed this positioning is very cool. The part numbers are 0495-0884 BIGS HND, P.N. 0069613000.
