Hi Ive been lurking for a little while and have learned quite a bit. I read earlier on this forum where someone(forgot who) measured their string spacing at 2 1/8" now I measure 2"...do the g5120s vary? Ive got it this way
12" neck radius
2.9" post to post on the saddle(bridge)
2" string spacing
this is for a compton...the stock bridge leaves alot to be desired...palm muting is uncomfortable and I get that "buzz" on the inside strings. Thanks for the input. Also I notice the wooden bridge not sitting flush...this has to hurt the tone...thinking of going ebony...someone mentioned(again cant rmbr) not having to sand a bridge they purchased...any suggestions?
Thanks alot
Jeff

Man, use a steel rule and be accurate. I measured my string spacing on my 5120 and it didn't match anything else I had read. Same with the polepieces and post measurements. I sent the exact measurements to Compton and the bridge came back perfect. I guess they have enough experience to make a call if they feel it should be a standardised spacing. There seems to be some variance out there. Being two continents and an ocean away I just had to make sure I had done everything to get close.:)

thanks a bunch....what threw me was the 2 1/8....theres no way its that....after measuring with digital calipers Ive concluded its 2 1/16 which is 2.0625" . I think 2 1/8 (2.125)is a little wide for me....PM me ampe and let me know how it works out for ya.
