It is from 1940-41. There is al 3 tube rectangular amp that came with it. I have seen where it may be a Gretsch made instrument. Thanks.....

They were made by Kay and sold by Gretsch I believe, Gretsch did not make them. You can google Rex guitar and find all the info there.

Gretsch distributed the Rex brand (among others). They did not manufacture them however (as Juke noted).
