Well, say hello to my Annie LTV (125th Jag Tan Annie), it's in Wunjo for a set up, and bridge refit (titanium Compton). If you buy a guitar from there, you get free setup's for life.

let me know if you see any really nice jets (Dynosonic equipped (including penguins with a Bigsby)) on offer at a knockdown price - I'm shopping for one now

All the best

Mr Marlin

Wish I could join too. :(

Could I be any further away I wonder. Maybe Hawaii...

Have fun and play lots of guitars!

Frus, Marlin: sorry you couldn't make it. Better luck next time!:)

Well, that was fun! I had a great time trying out a '57 streamliner and a 67 tenny. Wow! Those guitars played like butter!

I got invited even to come play in a club near there tonight, but I had to turn down the invitation. Such a shame... But I can tell you that gave a big confidence boost!:D

Also played a 60-something ES345 stereo, but I loathed it in combination with the peavey classic 50 I played it through... Talking about mud-city. Man!:p

Marlin, sry; I was completely absorbed with those vintages. I do remember seeing a couple of black and gold pro jets and a red duojet with filtertrons. But I don't really renember where I saw those.:o

Ah, and there WAS a penguin at Wunko's, but without bigsby.
I doubt that you're going to find one though. To my knowledge all penguins produced in recent years have the fixed tail.
If that's what you want, think about installing one yourself (or have it installed for you).

Maybe you can spot some jets here:

Just got to play a '63 country gent at King's Road Vintages!

While the guitar didn't play particulary good (I blame mostly the .009 set:eek:), I was struck by how different those vintage filtertrons sound! Much more bite and transparency than what I rember from my '09 CG.
I played through some kind of Crate amp. It wasn't brilliant, but the difference was evident to me.

Unfortunately I didn't have 7k on me for a change, so I had to leave the guitar there.

I was impressed with their collection of hollowbodies.:)

Here's a pic of KRV's Gretsch vintages. The one I got to play is the 63 CG on the left.

Looks and sounds like you had a great time! They really do have some of the most beautiful guitars down that road I used to work just round the corner at soho soundhouse which is a big well known guitar shop but it pretty much just stocks new instruments, not second hand or vintage and they do over charge a wee bit.

I live in Australia, but I've visited Denmark Street a few times.
I saw my first real life White Falcon in a shop window there in 1983, but no one was allowed to play it. It cost five thousand pounds (in 1983 that was about a squillion Aussie dollars).
I try to buy a little something every time I visit. Last year it was an electric ukulele. I wanted to buy a lovely mandola, but it didn't have a case and I was travelling.

When I die, if I get to heaven, St Peter will say, "Welcome Fletch, Denmark Street's just down there on the left."
Er....
"Just past the pub on the corner."

(Well it IS heaven, after all!)
