Blisters on G-100 pickguard

I've a strange problem with the pickguard on the G-100CE. There are "bubbles" or "blisters" forming on the pickguard where I've been resting my fingers when using a flat pick.

They have the appearance of a transparent coating lifting off, or as if a thin protective coat had not been removed. However, those styped of protective films can be peeled from the edge of the pickguard, and this seems to have nothing. The "blisters" are within a 1/2 oval around where I rest the three fingers, and directly under where I place my fingers. Any thoughts?

If I need to but a new pickguard I don't mind, but it just seems so odd, seeing as it's a solid piece of perspex/plexiglass althought not acrylic as on the Professional series. The blisters are just above the volume and tone controls adjacent to the bridge.

No, I don't have a digital camera unfortunately and don't know anyone that has one.

Sounds like you must have a lot of acid in your skin?

I was thinking that! Mainly because the "blisters" are localized where I place my fingers.
However, it could be that there is a protectice film that I never noticed. The "bubbles" have the same texture, thickness and appreance as on "blister" packaging.

I had this same thing happen to my G100ce, and I looked around the edges to see if it had the plastic on it for protection, but it didn't look like it. But then I took the pickguard off and could see the plastic sheet around the screw holes, so I peeled it off, which left the pickguard all new and shiny-looking :D

Thanks a million guys! That's what I needed to know. BTW, did Ringo Starr really say that?

Are you sure you took the shrink wrap plastic off the pick guard? Sorry if this is a stupid suggestion, but most of my guitars had a film on them when I got them. The truss rod cover did as well.

Again sorry if mentioning this is stupid. Wouldn't be my first time saying something stupid.

When I bought the guitar, I thought that the shop had aleady done that. It's exactly as IDMicheal said. I tried to find the protective layer from the edges to peel off, but it didn't seem to have any. Never mind as now I know what's what.
