We've created a new line of custom wood guitar stands that are designed for the home. They are available in multiple configurations in various hardwoods. Check out http://www.takeastandinc.com for more info. Thanks.

Very very pretty. If one day I have a studio or music room, I'd love something like this. Given that all I've got is a corner of the basement, I keep my Rose in her case when not playing.

$299 - $525. Not for me.

They are very cool looking. The price would be very hard for me to justify.

Beautiful stand. Lovely in theory. My 100+ lb. dogs would smash it all in seconds.
I get to have the gits and mama gets her dogs and horses. Best of luck.

Definitely nice stand. Expensive, though. If I had the extra dough I'd need to get a stand for it, however.
Maybe a case, too.

Thanks for all the comments. These stands are designed as fine furniture to showcase your guitar in your living room or home. Like any fine piece of furniture they are more costly. Ikea furniture costs far less than Thos. Moser furniture. One is fabricated from particle board and plastic laminate, the other is handcrafted from solid cherry and choice hardwoods. Hours are spent creating each stand ensuring the finest fit and finish.

As far as a 100 lb. dog decimating the stand, I doubt any guitar stand will withstand that sort of abuse. But we are designing a wall hanger that will avoid that issue while providing something that looks very nice - and at a reasonable cost.

The guitar hangs from the stand so it is allowed to sway and/or absorb any movement or shock. There is plenty of clearance around the guitar so that there is virtually no chance of it hitting anything. Also, hanging the guitar eliminates the problems of cords getting tangled up in bottom supports.

Most of the people who have purchased my stands own many guitars but were searching for something that would fit nicely into their home to display one or two of their favorite instruments. The stand with the Gretsch was purchased as a gift for a guy who owns about fifteen guitars.

Again, thanks for all the comments and I appreciate everyone taking a look.

Sorry, I spoke too fast the wife said we don't have room in our10X50 Fleetwood. The storage shed has bicycles in it. I could park them outside. Still no go.

Let us know when you have the wall mount ready if it indeed proves affordable.

As promised, I've developed a new wall hanger. It has no exposed fasteners and looks different from your typical String Swing or other hanger. It can be seen at http://www.takeastandinc.com/Wall_Hanger.html. Let me know what you think - good or bad. Thanks.

Well done. That is a pretty unique design. I like the leather points of contact.

joshatatlasstands,

How in the world did you come across this 18 month-old (dead/not active) thread?? :)

(I agree these are sweet guitar stands)

Man, those stands that are furniture or whatever, are quite beautiful. Having dabbled in woodworking from time to time, I know that exotic hardwoods are VERY pricey, and the work is wonderful. I don't know if I'd ever be able to afford something like that, but best believe I'd hop on it if I could. The wall hangers are gorgeous as well, and it's good to know that the contact pads won't eat through the guitars finish.

Josh, I'm also a fan of your work. Keep it up guys

+3 for Hercules. I have a stand and two hangars. They are solid and safe.

Well, yes and no...I am always designing and looking for other makers of hardwood guitar gear, and IMHO Tasi's guitar stands are simply amazing. Stuff like this has soul, unlike much of the throw away gear out there. It can surely be reliced, beaten, bruised, repaired and refinished 100 times over and even handed down through generations of musicians just as any fine instrument...built to last. Awesome design, very difficult to get wood to look and fit together like that..Given the craftsmanship and labor involved in the kind of woodwork that Tasi's stand obviously display they are very reasonably priced. And some rough timbers alone cost more than some guitars. Building materials like these don't come cheap, and for woodworkers, once you add up the time it takes to build this caliber of gear, we usually end up working for peanut shells when it is all said and done.

I bet they don't eff up the nitro on a vintage D'Angelico or Country Gentleman like the vast majority of the toss away rust away stands out there either. :D

Bravo Tasi! I'm a proud supporter of your woodwork, keep it up please! I'd love to have one in my home one day Sir. ;) You do gorgeous work and even with all the dissent I would bet there isn't even one single unhappy TASI stand owner in the entire world, which speaks volumes, as does your highly professional responses here on this thread.

TY Dirtymug666!!

Kind Regards,
Josh
