I was given this guitar many moons ago. And after holding on to it for all this time, I have decided to explore the prospect of finding it a new home. I have brought this guitar to several dealers and luthiers and they all say that it was manufactured sometime during the 50's. That being said, they also said that I should "hang on to it" and "shouldn't let it go for nothing".

Here are some pictures...

As I said in the previous post, this thing is was manufactured sometime in the fifties (to my knowledge). this guitar is not in what I would call "playable condition" due to an uncomfortably high action. This high action is being caused by a brace on the sound board directly under the fret board coming unglued. The main damage thats visible on the body is mostly the finish flaking off. There are a few scratches in the wood as well.

All that being said, I know that I can't expect top dollar on this guitar, but I am curious what anyone here might think its worth.

I've seen a few of these (including one nailed to the wall at a Famous Dave's), you have a Fender F-1000 made around 1970 (Fender didnt make an acoustic guitar until 63). The "Uni-Bar" on the headstock is a dead giveaway, these were made under license by Harmony and they are almost identical to Harmony H929's. This design was produced by Harmony under various names (alot of this design are Silvertones) since the mid 40's so thats why there may be some confusion as to the year. They arent worth a whole lot...100 bucks in good condition.

Okay...

So as DW_Dillinger pointed out and I further researched and confirmed, this thing is really a harmony knockoff. Imagine that, A knockoff of a company that was known for knockoffs.

So anyway...:o

Anybody got any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

Btw, sorry for the confusion.
