Hi folks, I'm a newbie here and this is my first official post.
I was having some issues with my newly acquired 6196 Country Club and after listening to the opinions of the local music store guys and the local Luther I decided I needed to seek the wisdom of those who own the same kind of equipment. you folk may have a better approach to this issue.
I owned a Tennessee Rose until January of this year when a local guitar collector passed away and his son sold off a few of his dads guitars, one of which was the 6196 Country Club in that awesome Cadillac green colour of which I love was well as the fact that it was a full size hollow body and seemed to out shine Tennessee rose so I traded up.
I play different styles of music. Jazz, Classic rock, oldies and to a lesser extend Rock-a-billy.
I struggle with my tone settings. As the 6196 has no tone knob ( I don't care for the toggle tone switch) I am constantly adjusting the amp or running through a eq pedal. I am considering changing out the master volume knob for a dual vol/tone 500k pot. or perhaps changing the individual pick-up volumes with a dual 500k pot. Does anyone have an idea on the best approach to this?
