Boss RC-20 XL

Hi! I just bought a used Boss RC-20 XL from music go round, and I'm not sure if it is broken or if I can't figure out how to make it work? I literally can't get any noise at all to come out when I plug it in. I'm fairly sure I've got it all plugged-in correctly (this is my first looping pedal). I think the batteries might be low but I put four new ones in so there are only two left from music go round. I hope I didn't just buy a bad pedal! I didn't have time to test this particular one out. I've tried different ones out before and loved them I probably made the rookie mistake of just assuming it worked. When I plugged in the amp in the output jack the lights light up normal at first then all of them sort of sputter all at once. Any ideas? Also, anyone know Music go Rounds return policy for used items? I mean I would think they wouldn't just sell an outright, non-working pedal. Hopefully I'm jsut doing something stupid. I hope this all makes sense, I've been drinking abit.

Also, this is my first post so I figured I should tell you that I've got a g5120 and I'm not sure if it's considered red wine or walnut?

1st order of business: pics. Get some pics of yer 5120 up! Especially in the color you described! We cant wait to see her.

2nd order: Pedal. You said the lights come up but then go out? That doesnt sound right to me. I dont have that pedal, but Ive got a few Boss pedals. They either work or they dont. It usually takes an Act of God to kill a Boss pedal, but they CAN die. Id suggest you give this thread a couple days tops for someone with the same pedal to chime in. If they dont, return it.

Good Luck to ya.

Sounds like it might be the batteries. I have one and when the batteries are shot it does what yours is doing. Also you can power it with a standard 9v transformer off of one of your other pedals.

Thanks for the ideas. Yup... batteries were the problem. I bought six new ones and now it works perfectly. This thing is sooo much fun! Pics are on the way! Thanks.
