I have been looking around at looper pedals for a while, only to result in a sort of overload and confusion as to what I even need any more. Thus, I thought I would ask if any of you here have experience with looper pedals on the market today.
The only key features I rank as “must haves” are:
Over 7 minutes of recording time
Ability to save recordings to a flash card/computer
The BOSS RC-20XL looks to be nearly perfect, but you cannot save loops. The Line 6 JM4 seems like it has all that I want, but unfortunately comes with a whole lot of things I don't need resulting in a pretty high price for a basic single track looper with no quanitizing. The new Digitech stereo looper seems to fit the bill, but again is kind of a “band-in-a-box” and kind of expensive for its basic looping features. Finally, you have the Electro-Harmonix 2880 with all the loop features one could want, but over $500 USD with unit and pedal board.
I started this search with the hope of spending maybe $200 USD on a basic looper pedal. Does such a thing exist with the ability to save your loops? Alternatively, does any one have any first-hand knowledge of loopers that might help me to reset my expectations?
