I'll have some pics up soon I swear! 100 miles west hmmm where is that exactly? Do you live in the Warmoth factory(fingers crossed)? lol spikeskug March 30th, 2010, 02:53 AM I live in Southern Cali and the only other person that I met that owned a Gretsch was Brian Setzer haha, apart from that it's dead as far as Gretsches go around here, I'd be lucky to see one or two at the local guitar center or sam ash. Bah they can keep their Ibanez and their Gibson robots. I'm a Gretsch boy :D dafreeze March 30th, 2010, 03:07 AM I am the Warmoth factory. Extreme Northen Ca. here. I walk down my driveway, and look north, I see the sign that says "Welcome to Oregon". I lived in Newport, Wa. when we were building the newsprint plant in Usk. Nice country up that way. =================================== <><> Raspy <><> Carbohydrates March 30th, 2010, 01:27 PM Steilacoom, WA here, and I work in the corner of Lakewood next to Tacoma and Puyallup. Warmoth is 5 or 10 minutes away, but they don't allow walk-ins. I tried. :( Regalzack March 30th, 2010, 01:33 PM What about break-ins? unbridled March 30th, 2010, 01:39 PM Dillon, Mt. Does that count? MGllm March 30th, 2010, 02:09 PM I bought my Smokey Amp while in Spokane on business a few years ago. Really liked that city. Regalzack March 30th, 2010, 02:23 PM It's not bad here, gets a little stagnant though, and the music scene is absolutely terrible for the amount of people we have. MGllm March 30th, 2010, 02:54 PM But is is the Inland Empire! B-rad March 30th, 2010, 03:06 PM I'm from Tumwater. I have cousins in Spokane. Great Place. Hey Carbo why don't you come on down to the GReat American on Saturday night and say Hi. B-rad http://www.myspace.com/stircrazyband pocaloc March 30th, 2010, 03:35 PM Hey, I'm from Spokane. Great city, not great for Gretsch. Hey Regalzack, have you ever been to the Cole Music Company on Garland? He actually has three pro-line gretsches there. A vintage Anniversary 6117 (without bigsby), a '94 6120, and a 2000 and something Country Club. I'm not associated with him or anything, that's just the best selection of pro-line Gretsch in Spokane. Gretschy March 30th, 2010, 03:45 PM Hey Zack, I'm in Missoula just a couple of hills away. I make it to Spo-Kompton pretty often for shows and such. We'll have to grab a beer sometime. Regalzack March 30th, 2010, 03:48 PM Yeah I know Eben Cole pretty well, best music store around here for sure... You playin' in any bands or anything round here? And Gretschy Definitely get a hold of me if your round, Well have to get a Gretsch head get together pocaloc March 30th, 2010, 04:15 PM I do play in a cover band with my friends, we play parties, and every once in a while we'll play a bar or something a little better than parties. Oh, we played on the mishanock (SP?) on lake CDA. We get paid in beer and food mostly, I think $60 was the max we made a piece one time. I actually play the drums in the band. I'm just a hobbyist with guitar. I think I may have seen you once at Cole music company. I brought my Tennessee Rose in and i think you're Gretsch had dice as knobs, into psychobilly you might've said? Didn't Cole let you set-up your stuff and at his shop? I'm a big fella. It was a more than a year ago I think. Anyway, if it was you, I remember you were pretty good on the guitar goofing around at the shop. Me...not so much, I am a hobbyist. :) Regalzack March 30th, 2010, 04:28 PM Yep chances are that was me... yeah I used to do Rock/Psychobilly stuff but I finally found my Niche and I really don't know what the hell you'd call it... You can listen' here if' you would like.. http://www.myspace.com/thecrowdedsouls pocaloc March 30th, 2010, 04:37 PM I'm pretty sure that was you from looking at your My Space. Good stuff. I'd call it Rock and Roll. Sorry for the detour on the thread. Anyone else from the Northwest? Senior March 30th, 2010, 04:54 PM I am really far Northwest. Camano Island, about 50 miles north of Seattle. I don't own a Gretsch. I have a Ventura Classical, Guild accoustic and a Ibanez Af 125. Putting pennies together for a Gretsch someday. hotraman March 30th, 2010, 10:32 PM I'm down here in Vancouver, WA USA, outside of Portland, Oregon. NWAttorney March 30th, 2010, 10:55 PM I'm from the Sandpoint area. A little closer than DaFreeze. Welcome! BIG 50's weekend up here with all sorts of cars, food, music, etc. I'll watch and wish I was a real guitar player. NWAttorney March 30th, 2010, 11:53 PM I am just outside of Seattle...Renton/Issaquah area. Renegade, I just moved to Idaho from Issaquah Highlands. We were basically neighbors. Orcas Island here.... Lots of GreTsches floating around out here, both vintage and new-ish.... NWAttorney March 31st, 2010, 11:27 AM Lost in the 50's...when/where? May 13-16th, 2010. Downtown Sandpoint. http://www.sandpoint.org/lostin50s/ pocaloc March 31st, 2010, 12:13 PM The Seattle area has got to be one of the best places to find gear of all sorts in the U.S., used and new. Lots of bands, or failed bands over there. In Spokane you can find any color of Strat that you want. The guitars available in the Spokane area are 55% strat style 25% les paul style, 7.5% tele style, 7.5% SG style. The remaining 5% includes all the rest. There are a few Gretsch electromatics in that 5%. It sure would be fun to be able to go try a Rickenbacker or a 6120 or a Jazzmaster, but I guess we just don't have the market. You have to buy over the internet to try, and then sell it if it isn't your cup of tea. It's a reall pain. Carbohydrates March 31st, 2010, 12:45 PM I'm from Tumwater. I have cousins in Spokane. Great Place. Hey Carbo why don't you come on down to the GReat American on Saturday night and say Hi. B-rad http://www.myspace.com/stircrazyband Hey man, I might just do that! You been to that casino before? You know the office complex directly behind it that shares its driveway? That's where I work. It would be a two minute walk. :) Carbohydrates March 31st, 2010, 12:51 PM The Seattle area has got to be one of the best places to find gear of all sorts in the U.S., used and new. Lots of bands, or failed bands over there. Seattle and the surrounding area is great; you got all sorts of stuff there. Seattle itself has Emerald City Guitars, which is a great shop with a sweet vintage collection (including both a 59 and a 60 Burst [seriously]). There's also American Music in Fremont, which has the most Gretsches of any Washington shop - last time I was in there, they had a Tenny, a 6120, a 6136-LDS, a 6118-125, a Hot Rod, and various Electromatics. They also have a buncha Eastwoods - I love Eastwood! A Sharp Music in Renton has a nice collection of high-end stuff like PRS, Grosh, and Santa Cruz. There's an American Music in Bellevue that's not associated with the Fremont one. I don't go there often, but last time I did, they had Deusenberg, various Gibson Custom Shop one-offs, and CA Acoustics (this is before they went under). Cool stuff all around. Oh, and I guess the Seattle Guitar Center isn't too terrible. edit: Music 6000 in Olympia also has a few Gretsches, but that's not really Seattle area. B-rad April 1st, 2010, 11:55 PM Carbo. Yeah we've played there quite a few times. It's a very nicely ran casino. Being non tribal, its a non smoking place. great management and staff. Would be real nice to meet a fellow poster. Brad ( I'll be on the bass). Saturday is my favorite night out.http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i4/lhoglan/P1040174.jpg Carbohydrates April 2nd, 2010, 01:06 AM Carbo. May have to stop by then. :) Renegade April 2nd, 2010, 09:04 AM Seattle and the surrounding area is great; you got all sorts of stuff there. I can vouch for the fact that these are both great stores...also if anyone is ever in the area check out, Trading Musician. B-rad April 2nd, 2010, 12:16 PM Hey Carbo. I will be looking for you. Not really sure what this weekend will bring due to the storms coming in, also Easter sunday. Possibly friday will be the better night. B-rad April 3rd, 2010, 06:10 PM It was nice to meet you Carbo. The night got going pretty good after the First few songs of the 2nd set. I sure enjoy playing on that big stage. Let me know when your playing. We talked about original music and I wanted to connect you to my son's project. He's on the bass. YouTube- STAIN Carbohydrates April 4th, 2010, 09:42 PM Great meeting you, Brad! Did the crowds improve by Saturday? Spike Strider April 16th, 2010, 12:48 PM I'm in Spokane, Wa and feeling mighty alone in my Gretsch fixation. I'm over in CDA, ID. Drop me a line and maybe we can find some time to get together. Jeff joyfoolpdx June 23rd, 2010, 03:21 PM I live in Portland - music stores here can be great for Gretsch guitars, especially Old Town Music. I traded a Rick 366 for a Setzer 6120 at one point, but had to sell the 6120 back due to an unfortunate confluence of my ex-wife's attorney and the IRS. Still have my Rancher, though.... There used to be a double cutaway 1969 White Falcon at one of the two Guitar Centers here (can't remember which one). Cheers, John eggroll June 27th, 2010, 12:43 AM Just joined minutes ago, I'm in Olalla, dandelion capitol of the WORLD. Where the @#*! is that, you say? Well, it's right between Gig Harbor and Port Orchard on the Kitsap Peninsula. Caldon October 6th, 2010, 09:37 PM Well, as usual, I'm a bit late "to the party"... I live in Spokane Valley, and I've recently joined the forum after "lurking" around this site gathering info. which led me to acquiring my first Gretsch. She's an '01 G6114A New Jet. I've posted a few pics over in the new members area. Seven years ago I formed my band which can be seen/heard @ : http://www.myspace.com/curtdonnerpartyband |
