Snorre March 26th, 2010, 03:25 PM The white one with matching headstock (2006) - I'm assuming it's the '69 RI model as opposed to the '72 RI (with humbuckers). I've been doing well selling off some of my other gear so I figured I would finally cure my long-time GAS for one of these:

Found it on Guitar Center's online used guitar section for $449.00 ($497.94 after taxes & shipping cost). I bought it over the phone today. It was a pretty sweet deal that I couldn't pass it up. The guitar should arrive in about 4 or 5 days - I can't wait to play her!
**EDIT** Just an FYI - my thread title should be changed to read, "Fender Special Edition 69 RI Thinline" - I put on the info from my Guitar Center used listing without thinking - it just has the 60th Anniversary commemorative badge that all Fenders guitars put out in 2006 had. I'd appreciate it if a Mod could make that fix for me - thanks! :o
JC higgy March 26th, 2010, 03:59 PM Congrats Snorre,i always liked thinlines.
Snorre March 26th, 2010, 06:22 PM Thanks, JC! I had sold off my Reverend Club King 290 and stumbled across this sweet deal while I've been looking at Fender 50s Strats (looking to get a Daphne blue with a maple neck/fretboard). Plenty of Fender 50s Strats out there, this particular Thinline, not so much - had to jump on it!
elvisdog March 26th, 2010, 06:46 PM decent deal on a fantastic guitar. my #1 is one of these in Shell Pink. stays in tune, great neck, light weight a big plus on a 4-set night. stock pickups are decent, but, you know, it's a telecaster -- screwing around with pickups is mandatory, even if you like the ones you've got. Lollar / GVCG tele set in there now and for life. great guitar. congrats.
coolbus18 March 26th, 2010, 07:10 PM waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I want one!
Jukebox March 26th, 2010, 09:08 PM Yep, I like the thinlines also, congrats

Thanks, guys! Elvisdog, I would love to see a pic of the Shell Pink thinline. I really dig the pastel-colored thinlines. On some of the Fender guitar forums is a gentleman that goes by the handle, "Csapo" and he has an amazing tele collection. Here is his pic of his pastel-colored thinlines (one of my favorite tele photos!):

Probably one of the first mods I will do on it is to transplant my Bigsby (with Fender logo) off of my Fender Nashville Deluxe because I would prefer it on a semi-hollowbody:

This is assuming I can fill-in/paint over the holes left by the Bigsby on the Nashville Deluxe...
Crooner March 26th, 2010, 09:16 PM Nice grab! Tele Thinlines have always been my favorite backup to Gretsches. That looks like a real keeper. Congrats!
Snorre March 26th, 2010, 10:01 PM Thanks, Crooner!
Snorre March 31st, 2010, 08:31 PM My FSR '69 Thinline arrived today! I need to throw some new strings on her but she plays great as is for now.
I like the coated (nitro or poly, can't tell for sure) neck/fretboard and the body has one "character" nick on the back edge of the horn. Nothing I'm worried about considering the great deal I got for this beauty. The pearloid pickguard is nice but I'm very interested in putting a gold anodized one on for that working man's White Falcon vibe.
Here's some pics as promised - apologies for the flash - can't be helped. I'll try to get a YouTube clip on as soon as I can (probably on Friday or Saturday). She's a keeper!

Raspy April 1st, 2010, 11:03 AM I'm usually not a fan of white
guitars, but that one looks
really kool.
I like the Thinlines, and I really
like that one.
I'm considering one of the new
Squier Thinlines.

Snorre April 1st, 2010, 01:14 PM Thanks, Raspy! I hear the Squire Thinlines are terrific but I haven't had a chance to try one out yet.
I've tried the Squire Classic Vibe 50s Tele and I was really impressed - great sound, gorgeous neck, etc. but wow are they ever hefty (9 - 10 lbs. ore more). Too heavy for my middle-aged back.

That's another one I was thinking about, the
Classic Vibe Tele, (I love Teles).
The other one I was going to check out
was the Mahogany Thineline. I really like
the looks of that one. In fact, I might take
a ride over to Medford,(they have a GC there)
tomorrow.
I don't know why I don't like white guitars. Yours
looks great.

Thanks, Jukebox!
