Overview
The tc electronic PolyTune is the first polyphonic tuner, and it is designed to speed up tuning on stage. Simply strum all the strings at once and the display will show which ones are sharp or flat. So no more lame jokes from your lead singer to buy time while you tune between songs.
Features
-true bypass
-allows you to tune quickly and silently between songs
-display has a light sensor to adjust the LEDs to match the conditions you are in
-+/- 0.5 cent accuracy
-needle or stream metering
-monopoly mode to tune strings one at a time like a traditional tuner
-dropped tunings from E-flat down to B. It also includes a USB port which suggests downloadable upgrades maybe available in the future
-features power in and out so it can power another pedal
-small footprint so it doesn’t take up a lot of real estate on your pedal board (about the size of a typical MXR pedal like the Carbon Copy)
-can be powered by a 9 volt battery or an external 9v DC power supply. Changing the battery was quick and easy as the unit has a one screw access to the battery compartment
Conclusion
The PolyTune really does speed up the tuning process, and it is very easy to use. With its true bypass design and versatile display this reasonably priced tuner (about $99 street) is a great addition to your board.
