Big "Thank You!" To Jukebox as he steps back from Moderating

Gretsch-Talk
October 20th, 2009, 05:39 PM
Jukebox (Mike Peterson) contacted me today and asked to be relieved of his moderating duties here due to his huge workload producing the upcoming Northwoods Jam. As you probably know, Mike is adding a number of features to his Jam and the work load for that is all consuming.

Let me be the first to thank and commend Michael for his diligent hard work as a Moderator of Gretsch-Talk. As you can tell, he practically lived on the forums here since we've been open.

So, here's to Jukebox! Thanks tremendously and best of luck with your 2010 Northwoods Jam!!

Paul Green
PS. At present, I'll not be selecting a replacement Moderator for G-T. I'll be waiting for a couple of months to see how things develop here.

Thank's for all the time you've put in Mike. Sure wish I was able to experience the fruit of all the labor you're putting in towards Northwoods 2010.

From the first time I found this site, you've been part of the foundation of what makes this place so special, Mike.
Thank you, and if you stay away too much we're comin' after ya.

Don't think for a minute that this will cut into his mindless drivel banter for a minute. He's just no longer the babysitter. We'll at least soon find out what comes after friend of Fred.

Thanks bud you did a good job!

I guess there's such a thing as "moderation in all things", even being a moderator! Good moderating, Mike!

Reading further into this thread, I noticed the "similar threads" table at the bottom of the page and found this thread starter. I think it says it all. Here's a direct link to the thread and here’s the OP:

http://www.gretsch-talk.com/forum/freds-barcalounge/3800-who-jukebox-guy-what-ass.html#post21345

who is this "jukebox guy" What an ass!
I mean the nerve of the guy......

Now I know I've only been posting on this forum for less than a month. reading it longer but posting for a couple weeks...

I make my first post,,,, and this guy has the nerve to not only to welcome me to the forum but offer some advice while he is at it...... MAN THIS GUY MUST BE FULL OF HIMSELF...

Then I ask some more questions as I go along on my search and decide that modding a guitar to be "like" a gretsch is not the way to go,, buying a real gretsch is what I need to do.. and what person should show up.. that jukebox guy again. offering advice on models,, differnces, ect....

by this time i'm thinking.. wow.. what a wierdo.....

THEN.. I find out he not only has some wierd perversed obsession with guitars (and is even more annoying because he can play them) BUT.. he is helping out some under priveleged kids in another state with FREE INSTURMENTS!!!!!!

while doing this he is sending me private messages warning me about the hazzards of putting your email address in a post in case a spammer gets ahold of it....

I gotta tell you guys,, I'm new here.. heck i'm pretty new to guitars and still learning to play one.. (someday I hope to be able to play a whole song)... but I've gotta say......

I've been online since about 1990. I've ran websites, and belong to some pretty large message boards, I'm a network engineer by trade, and motorcycle builder for fun,, and i don't think I've ever met a friendlier guy than Mr Jukebox.

Some Times on other boards i've been on there is the rare guy like Jukebox that always seems to participate and help... and the regulars get so use to it that it just seems... well normal....

being new to the board I can tell you.......it's not normal.. It is REALLY KOOL!!!! it's guys like him that make online boards more than just a stupid web page. they participate "above and beyond".........

Jukebox.. thanks for making a new guy to the board and to guitars feel welcome......

I have the Northwoods Jam, Then the nonprofit (guitar Club international)and three bands that I am playing with now; plus the barber shop and the girlfriend. Something had to give. Unfortunately it had to be the G-T! I will around during the week, during the day. Once again THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for all you've done around here Mike. I'm fairly quiet on this board, but I do take notice of the goings on, and you've always got a kind or helping word. Good luck with the jam, and the charity. It's a great thing you're doing.
