Logo Suggestions?
OK...I just put a purple jewel light in and it looks cool.
Now I need some suggestions for a front logo....
I am looking for something different. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Well....I plan on getting a Setzer Hot Rod in the near future (purple). Maybe something that relates to the two.

Whatever you do, don't use Brush Script typeface. A font so tired it puts me in a coma.

yep. Nora was my dog. She died at 18 (or thereabouts) (about 2 years ago). She was a 'wild' dog born near Sewanee, Tn of unknown origin. She started hanging around our place and was completely wild... She was a great girl, super smart, a great trail dog and sweetheart.
I used the spacedog at work for years on projects that I was working on... and I love that 50's 'modern' look to things.. so it was a natural.....
I think at Weber's site he has a gallery of logos.. I think it is great fun to make that stuff up.

I love that logo and the story that goes with it. I know that my little feral cat has become one heck of a great pet so I imagine that a feral dog could adapt quite well.

Mark, after Nora died (I won't torture you guys with the story) I was pretty bummed but, I am committed to the idea that if we could keep at least two dogs around the house that are adopted, we're accomplishing something (namely saving a couple of lives and theoretically providing a happy, safe and crazy life!)
We ended up adopting Sadie who is 2. She is half Saluki and half German shepherd... which is a challenging mix. She was adopted 6 times and returned. Too strong, too fast too hyper, uncontrollable. We've had her a year now and Nora would be proud of us... she is the greatest dog ever... so smart and funny... and Sophie, a little half chihuahua half border collie (a really weird mix) we found her in a cardboard box in an abandoned house downtown (tough neighborhood) as a little tiny puppy covered in fleas and not well.. she is a year old last week and is also just a great little dog....
I'm convinced that that Cesar guy is right... the dogs are always great... you just gotta work with them and love on'em and have orderly fun....
Anyway, my wife got me one of those rocks for Nora with her name on it and we have it by her favorite tree.... my kids have grown up managing with dogs and working with them and petting them and talking to them... I just think good pets make better humans....
Anyway, I hope Nora is cruising around in space... and in her honor, I hope these puppies have nice, long, fun filled lives with lots of walks and plenty of petting....
sorry to be so sappy.

Both of my cats are rescued from being out on their own. Smokey, my Russian Blue had 5 owners before me and he was only 6 months old when I got him. The last person that had him decided they didn't want a cat and just turned him loose. A friend of mine rescued him and brought him to my house. He's been with me for nearly 5 years now.
The other cat, Cleo, lived feral and had raised a batch of kittens to the point that they could fend for themselves. I caught her, had her spayed and took her in. I had been leaving food her her and her kittens and she came to trust me, before that you couldn't get anywhere near her. I tried to catch the kittens and have them neutered also but they were too elusive.
I think that both cats are intellegent and aware enough to know that they caught a break when I took them in. Smokey is a big, stoic male and he's quiet in expressing himself. Cleo is just the opposite, she let's me know exactly how she feels. She is extremely affectionate, rarely letting me out of her site. I'm gratified to be able to provide a home for a couple of gentle, friendly and well behaved animals. It's quite rewarding.

Eight years ago we were living in a second floor flat with a balcony. There was a feral cat who used to come around, and being softies, we'd occasionally give her something to eat. One cold March morning I went out on the balcony to discovered she had holed up in a cardboard box that was sitting out there and had had a litter of kittens. Two had already frozen to death, but there were five still alive, so I took them inside. The mother cat really didn't like coming inside, but she would come in to nurse them, but she would try to take them outside again. Two eventually disappeared, one we gave to a friend, and we still have two that have grown up to be fully domesticated. The mother cat eventually disappeared, but not before leaving us with an infestation of fleas in the house.

I guess the animal theme is the favorite logo idea.
I have thinking of just calling it "Woof!" I just love how this amp barks!

GG, sorry for the derail...
CJ Sutton at Weber will help you... if you come up with a design (or if you want some help) he can make the plates for you... I think the initial setup is 35.00 then from now on.. anytime you want one they are like 5.00... I had mine made of metal, but you can choose plastic etc...
Woof! is a good choice although I'd mess it up with a model name and number...

No derail...just part of the fun in it. There are definitely a lot of animal lovers here, including me. I was looking at all the names of amps and wow...there sure are a lot of animal names. Bad Cat. Lil Dog, Bad Dog, Working Dog etc.
Thanks for the the Weber tip. I didn't even see that they did name plates. I really wish that Weber would redesign their website. It is very confusing and cluttered. When I ordered my 5E3 build, there are many things I may have bought at that time. I just bought a purple jewel and purple knobs (They look bad and I changed them back already). I also may have gotten different speakers at the time.

Yeah, I don't think that will happen too soon. Ted is a workaholic, but he is very very ill (lung transplant) and we are all just hoping he gets better...
I've had pretty good luck buying there, but I always plan to really pore through the site to find all the stuff they have...

This is just something to help you picture what kind of design you might want. That is a cool amp and I think it would really be special with a design & name that you come up with.Hope this helps.

Ummm, are these amps that you are making yourself?
Are they for sale?
They are hand built I presume?
How much wattage and how much money?
I need a good amp.

Michelle, that is just a Weber 5E3 kit (57 Tweed Deluxe Clone) that I put together. They make the cabinets in many different colors, but most people go for the Tweed. I had Ted make me a 3X10" cabinet instead of the stock single 12" for a minimal charge. This also called for a beefed up output transformer. I was looking for the Tweed Deluxe tone with a tighter bottom and a little more volume. With beginners luck I got exactly what I wanted. I wanted a mix of Setzer, Reverend Heat, and Keith Richards. This amp does all very well. With the beefed up specs, it is probably running about 18-20 watts. This is a gigable amp that can get loud.
If you go to his site, Ted Weber Amp Kits, you may find what you are looking for at a reasonable price. They can set you up with an amp builder if you don't want to tackle such a project. A Fender 57 Tweed Deluxe will run about $2,500. A Weber 5E3 kit is about $490. You can pick your cabinet color, type of handle, cabinet style, grill cloth, control panel....etc. I am not sure on the cost of having one of their builders assembling it. If you email them, they will send you a quote.
Good luck on your amp search.

Between your sig-line gnat thingy (which is very cool by the way; I know someone here has swatted at it), the purple color and the grill cloth (at least in this pic). I think some sort of fly may be appropriate. Or two Arrow-Gs to accomplish a "Great Gretsch" moniker in a monogram style.

My goodness.....I never expected such input and great ideas!
My kids love the penguin idea! My boy is 14 and my girl is 9.
They came up with "The barking Penguin" with the penguin going "Woof".
Thanks everyone!
