this ST120 with 4 KT88 power tubes has 60 watts for each channel which is more than i need being that my jbl speakers are 96db

I bet that sounds GREAT! I just love the deep rich tone of tube stereo! I have an old Philco radio that sounds so warm and rich.

Man, I've never been into 'em, but I'd sure like to be. Can you find decent stuff for a reasonable price? I guess what I mean is what is a reasonable price for a high quality set up? This is for home audio we are looking at right? Like, plug a record player into?

if your interested in a higher end music system there are all sorts of variables when it comes to selecting for your own needs .
if your looking for an intrigrated amp and preamp thats a step in a money saving direction but individual units are of higher quality and cost more . you need to decide what you want so when you spend your $ the first time you are satisfied and dont have to spend more $ because its not what you thought .
my advice is go to a high end music store a establishment that only sells high quality audio in your area and test speaker systems and amplifiers and see what suits you and your budgit .
there are forums such as this on the internet for audio that lend alot of good advice as well
myself i have to have tube gear not solid state and i admit solid state has come along way but it does not have the warth of tubes no way .

Very nice and clean amp! And a pretty penny for that C/J I'm bettin'....
I'm a bit of a budget audiophile myself but went to solidstate years ago. I have dabbled with Dynaco and Marantz tube stuff back a ways, running into a set of magnaplanars.

In another life, I was into vintage tube audio stuff. In fact, I still have a couple of c.1960 Saunsui tube receivers in storage and someday, I'll get them out and have a real stereo again.
That's a really nice looking amp you have there, g6120--I bet it sounds terrific.
