Weber 5E7 Bandmaster with 112 and 110 WOW!
I've been using this as my gigging amp the last several gigs and it has been great easy to carry and pack around. It just breaks up a little to early and could be a little louder to be perfect. I got to thinking if I could get some more headroom and airyness of a 12 it would be perfect. I hooked it up to the speakers in my 212 pro reverb and the sound was what I was looking for louder cleaner and a little later breakup. Well 212's don't fit but a 12 and 10 would. I had a Celestion Vintage 30 60 watts and a Jensen C10Q 35 watt speakers lying around so I cut a new baffle 3/4 birch plywood cut two holes put the existing grill cloth on and all I can say is it worked and sounded like I wanted. Sometimes things do go together the way I want and this is one of those times. I have amazed myself once again. Link for when I first got the amp if your interested.

A 12" is definitely going to help open up the sound. Congrats on finding a good compromise.

It looks like the drummer has that Orangutan thing down pretty well. "Left turn, Clyde!"
I would love to hear a better sounding clip of your X500 and that amp. Was the video before or after the recent speaker mod?

Update it did sound good but I went back to the three weber signature tens for the growl they are only 15 watt speakers. I'm looking to upgrade to Jensen P10Q or the Weber equivalent if I can find a good deal on them It is usually miced so the clean will just played at lower volume.
I think my ears must change minute to minute.

Not sure if it's the same with guitar speakers, but I would assume it is.... I use to be a big time car audio nut and competed every weekend including world finals. Mixing speaker sizes in car's was a big no-no as they'll react differently at specific frequencies, there for canceling out portions of those frequencies. I'm talking about subs here. The way we used multiple speaker sizes for the mids/highs was with cross-overs.... If it worked for you though, nice

Crossovers are necessary when trying to build something to reproduce a wide audio spectrum but they are not of much use within the very limited range of the guitar.
