First off they are 2000s not 2k's. The 2k's were run in the DeArmonds and some Guilds before Fender shut them down and are more P-90ish in flavor.
Ronnie maybe right about the neck pickup being upside down I just confirmed with a few pics in my folders and they show the slugs in the neck positioned the same as the bridge.
Maybe you ought to check into raising that bridge with a spacer then re-arrange the polepieces to spec. I'm sure paul Setzer could come up with some spacers.
