I agree with you. I had my own thoughts on the paint on the front weighing down the guitar, but I had figured the veneer on the back wouldn't affect it so much seeing as it is wood vs. thick automotive paint with a thick clearcoat and the fact that it is only on the back. From what I understand damping the front of a hollowbody is a big no-no and the sides and back don't get near to close as much say in overall tone, so hopefully that information I've been given is correct. However if my guitar is still dark-sounding I supposed I'll have to try unnatural methods to brighten it up.

That guitar looks real good BTW.
