Well, actually, I've had the guitar for close to four years now! Sorry if I gave the impression it was new... But yeah, I just have come to the conclusion that the stock pickups had to go after playing it a lot recently..

I did a little research and the Fender Original Vintage Tele pickups get great reviews for that pure Tele sound, so that's what I went with.

The tech will be installing the pickups, and doing some shielding (not sure exactly what he's going to be doing there - he said he needed to get into it first to determine that). It's been set up already, and I like everything (frets, action, etc.) like it is, so that stuff will be left alone, although he did say he would do a quick basic set up after putting the new strings on.
