If the situation with the economy doesn't improve quickly, how long do you think it will be until US manufacturers open up production in countries where parts and labour are cheaper?
The alternative is, these companies will pass the extra costs on to you, something we are already seeing. This might be OK until the state of the economy affects you personalty to the point where you can no longer afford their products.
Where will the companies loyalty be? Will it be with you or will it be with their profits and their need to remain in business?
