if you could make any changes or adjustments to the eddie cochran-ish tele, what would it be? i'm considering building that one the most.
I would be inclined to use the Gretsch hanger bolts instead of regular strap buttons, and maybe use a wood-burner (or decals) to put the G brand on and maybe, a steerhorn on the headstock? Would also consider a vibrato?

I built my own archtop hollowbody Cochran guitar recently (finished it in 08/2010). I used genuine gretsch hardware, and a Gretsch Dynasonic and Lindy Fralin P90. It also has a Patented Bigsby unit with a fixed arm.
The only regret I had was that I couldn't find a fingerboard with Block Markers, so had to settle for the thumbnail pointers! I used Angela instruments there in the states for the majority of the hardware and TFN for the harness. (Import duties to the UK set me back though, lol!)

Good luck with it!
